Trends I 'dislike' Wednesday

I often find trends that could definitely do everyone a favor by disappearing, so I'm going to start my own little tradition and rant about one of these unfortunate trends every Wednesday :] I'm not sure how relevant this is to anyone, but I have to let it out somehow! And people in all places of this wolrd need to know that their 'bad ass' -insert trendy item- is not as fab as they think. I'm not trying to hate :/ but most -if not all- of these trends come from people who have a specific style, that doesn't fit the majority of the people who desperately follow trends. Let's start with the first current trend I 'dislike'! [yaay i get to really rant now]

FEATHER EXTENSIONS

Feather extensions are a disgrace to humans, and obviously birds. [I'm trying to become vegan and even though it's very hard and i cheat from time to time, I am still a strong advocate of animal rights]. Can anyone explain to me WHY would someone take feathers off a poor bird to dye them in ugly colors so a person can wear whatever is left of the feather on her hair?? [or his, that guy from Aerosmith wears them too]. Unless you are a Native American to whom wearing feathers on their hair actually has a meaning, you should NOT wear these hideous things.  Besides, once a 'trendy' item is being sold on the Venice boardwalk -or even worse- at the Tijuana-San Diego Border [something only us Mexicans that travel back to Baja California often would know] it becomes a HUGE no-no.

Ok, enough ranting. This is a blog about pretty and visually pleasing anachronisms, not ugly/eye-hurting current trends but, sometimes, I get too into my wanna-be vegan mind and posts like this are the product of that. On a good note, Today was an exciting day since I decided that I'm going to learn how to ride and hopefully buy a motorcycle! I hope don't end up looking like this

Oh I am also ecstatic because I found my old pink polyester high waisted pants!!! Now I need the car.

Hola! Salut! Hello!

Ahh, how refreshing. The idea of starting a new project makes my eyes shine like the sparkles on these shoes; but as happy as I was when the idea of having a blog popped into my mind, I felt rather insecure- What should I blog about? What should I call it? Am I  officially going to be a hipster if I have a blog? should I post in English or Spanish?.... then a voice in the back of my mind said 'Who cares!'
The name of this blog reflects what I love to be surrounded with - old things. Anachronism, as defined by wikipedia is "an inconsistency in some chronological arrangement, especially a chronological misplacing of persons, events, objects, or customs in regard to each other." I am intrigued by the stories behind the objects in thrift and vintage shops. And I believe that the last thing out planet needs right now is a bigger demand to make more products, which is why I would rather 'reuse' than buy new things. Plus design and quality used to be so awesome!
Anyway, here is my first post. I was bored yesterday and I decided to take pictures of ma maison. Come on in!
The parasols on the ceiling are a result of a sudden obsession [i bought 5 of them in 2 days] and drinking too much coffee. I installed these three, one in the kitchen and painted my bathroom all by myself in less than 4 hours. I can be a real loca sometimes.

I love this chair! I got it on Craigslist for a reeeeaally good price. And it works!
